That Time Again

Saturday, November 01, 2014
Dear Readers,

As most of you turn your clocks back an hour either tonight or tomorrow, I hope that this meme is appropriate for most of you:

If you don't already know, not everyone does it. Arizona (except for residents of the Navajo Indian Reservation), Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam, and the Northern Marianas Islands don't change their time. So, why do the rest of us?
Well, doing some research... (Wikipedia) It seems as though we started it so when people came home from work they could still do outside activities and to "save" energy. But, as Wikipedia says,
"Problems sometimes caused by DST clock shifts include: they complicate timekeeping, and can disrupt meetings, travel, billing, record keeping, medical devices, heavy equipment,[8] and sleep patterns.[9] Software can often adjust computer clocks automatically, but this can be limited and error-prone, particularly when various jurisdictions change the dates and timings of DST changes."
(If you want some more info on why they did it, click the Wikipedia link.)
That being said, I for one think it is rather stupid to have Daylight Savings Time. I hope you all agree with me :D
